The lovely thing about starting a day early …6 am in my case is that you get to enjoy your morning coffee feeling quite smug that you have achieved so much in so little time..and then you remember you have in fact been up and beavering away with the brushes for at least five hours!
What made today so special was …..in the space of just a few short hours I travelled across history from the 1940s to 1970 through to the 1990s and finishing off the day by completely altering the appearance of four wardrobe doors with a simple coat of chalk paint and new ceramic knobs ,to bring them all together with a previously done piece of furniture. Changing the feel of another room with the addition of those special pieces and touches.
And it is those finishing touches that make all the difference. The three pieces I have worked on today have been brought back to life with the warmth and texture of the lovely Annie Sloan™ range of paints, but it will be tomorrow when I add depth with the wax and distressing and the final touch of hardware, be it the original pieces or something new will the piece finally come back to life. So that why today I thought I would post some picture mid work (grandsons sandpit and all !)……. tomorrow I will show you what the final look will be ……….
